“Professional cinema image-taking should integrate, serve, interest, and enhance the story. I judge cinematography not just for a story well told but for what the story is”

Haskell Wexler

Dear future friend and client,

“We’re not photogenic”

“I don’t like how I look in photos”

“We’re awkward”

“We probably don’t fit your aesthetic”

“We don’t know what to do”

… Let me stop you there. I do not believe in there being a “photogenic” image. Perhaps some images and its contents appeal to our personal aesthetics more than others, but every person is perfect in their own photo.

My job here is to tell your story through a series of images and tangible memories. I am here to document your love in real time so that in 5-50 years you will look back and remember it all, just as it was. I. choose to shoot in way that is more organic and natural- I want you to be creating memories while I work. While I’ll give you prompts and ideas, I also aim to let you just BE. During weddings days I again, take the more organic route, catching the raw and real moments. A photographer should be more than someone who just presses a button and tells you to “smile!” A photographer creates art while building a relationship with clientele who become friends. I am here to be your hype woman, shoulder to cry on, confidante, advisor, and so much more. I am NOT here to simply show up on your session day, take some pictures, and leave. I’m going to ask you questions and check in on you. I’m going to offer you tips and hype up all your posts. I’ll ask you how your test went and how your family is doing, if you let me.

I am here to capture the most beautiful, intimate, and memorable moments of your life. Your wedding day, your bridals or engagements, whatever it may be, are a story to be told. I’m here to tell that story in the best way possible. I serve you and all your memories. I am a hopeless romantic. I love witnessing love. I live to capture love. I love reading about love and listening about love. I love love. Whatever your love looks like, I’m here for it.

Sincerely

Tay Dempsey
